Ashtrays have been a recurring theme in the work of many great designers. Quentin Vuong places himself in the lineage of this exercise by choosing to explore forms inspired by medieval buildings from southern Spain. Ceramic, cold metallization, and plain beech wood are used without ornament. These materials create contrast and give the pieces a sense of weight. The tall ashtray is designed to match the height of an armchair. The smaller one is meant to sit on broader surfaces. Each piece has a strong, architectural presence. The richness of the materials and textures brings a clear sense of luxury.
