Quentin Vuong is a designer whose work is rooted in natural materials, shaped by precise gestures and age-old techniques, to arrest the gaze and pull the viewer out of the everyday. In a society obsessed with speed and immediacy, we become desensitised to what truly matters. Quentin Vuong seeks to rebalance this equation by consciously rejecting constant acceleration. Through textures, materials, and shifting reflections, he invites surprise, touch, and a sense of slowness. His pieces are visual traps, designed to interrupt the flow and reawaken attention. They reveal the beauty of the everyday, natural phenomena, the gesture, and the human presence behind each object. He envisions them as timeless, made to endure and be passed on. His ambition is to help define a new kind of utopia, not one of speed, but one rooted in creation, transmission, and a different way of making and producing.

Quentin Vuong graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2015. In 2016, he joined the Fabrica research center in Treviso under the direction of Sam Baron, where he explored various fields of design, ranging from furniture to scenography. This experience led him to exhibit at the Salone del Mobile in Milan's Royal Pavilion at Central Station in 2016 and at Palazzo Litta in 2017. Upon returning to Paris, he collaborated with the studio Back of the House until 2022, contributing to the design of events for fashion houses such as Jil Sander, Courrèges, Acne Studios, and Kenzo. At the same time, he established his workshop at Villa Belleville, where he headed the wood department and provided expertise to local artists and associations. In 2018 and 2019, he co-led the Keur Design workshops with the Institut français in Dakar and designer Ousmane Mbaye, bringing together artisans and designers around Senegalese domestic objects. Since 2022, he has fully dedicated himself to creating furniture and objects that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary materials. His work focuses on revealing textures, capturing light, and embedding each piece in a timeless aesthetic. He incorporates manual techniques such as gold leaf gilding and solid woodwork, embracing the passage of time and natural oxidation to lend his creations a precious patina. He has collaborated with Rimowa on their touring exhibition As Seen By and with Théo Casciani on the project Tactique, which will be presented at Lafayette Anticipations as part of Engadin Art Talks. Today, Quentin Vuong works closely with Galerie Gastou in Paris and Spazio Nobile in Brussels. His poetic and sensitive approach to design invites a tactile and luminous contemplation of objects within our living spaces.
