This section brings together a series of projects that have enabled Quentin Vuong to transform intuitions and ideas into physical objects, in some cases leading to larger-scale projects.
A series of reflectors, made of carved wood gilded with fine silver sheets, was created for Théo Casciani and his project TACTIQUE. They were presented at Lafayette Anticipations during a conversation between Hans Ulrich Obrist and him, as part of Engadin Art Talks.
A research project about the architectural elements of Venice, the chimneys, was initiated during Fabrica. It leads to a series of sketches, exploratory objects, and an archive of more than 300 photos of different chimneys.
For the “As Seen By” exhibition, Quentin Vuong aimed to create contrast with the “industrial perfection” of the Rimowa grooved aluminium sheets by layering organic shapes, inspired by raindrops, on top of them. Acting like a distorting mirror, the aluminium is frozen in time, and the liquid creates a subtle reflection, altering our image.
